With WELDWORKS, from Palisades Research, your symbol takes shape before your eyes as you build it. When done, insert it with a touch. Reuse the symbol over and over, making changes as needed, as you progressively annotate your drawing. Save symbols as templates to recall for use in any drawing. WeldWorks implements the latest ANSI/AWS specifications (A2.4-93).
First, pop up the WeldWorks dialog box in the middle of any AutoCAD
drawing session. Select the Weld Type: Fillet, Flange, Groove, Plug,
Projection, Seam, Slot, Spot, Stud, Surfacing. A visual template for
the type pops up in the display window. Specify Supplements: weld all
around, field weld, consumable insert, melt through, back or backing,
joint with backing. Assign other characteristics such as Direction,
Placement, Contours (concave, convex, flush, or none), and predefined
Finish Symbols.
Labels and Noting: WeldWorks has ANSI standard noting built in (where AAC-MA stands for Air Arch-Carbon Manual weld, for example). You can also attach user-defined labels that will be displayed with each insertion to pass along extra instructions.
Configurable: You can specify different layers for various symbol components, the block to be used for leader line arrowheads, arrowhead size, symbol scaling, and multiple leader lines. Save and recall these settings.
Automatic Bills of Material: WeldWorks automatically embeds valuable
information into each symbol insertion including weld size, length, and
pitch. Extract this data for creating reports, BOMs, purchase orders,
and for use with spreadsheets, etc.
