The Graphtec CS 300 and 400 ultra fast scanners improve on the CS 1000 with high-speed scanning at high resolution moving your drawings along at 9 ips @ 400 dpi. 40" scan area can take a 42" wide sheet. Rubber feet and light weight let you detach it from its stand to set on a table. Built-in media basket to catch your drawings, full-length front and rear rollers for non-slip scanning, tempered glass for a non-scratch surface, scan to pdf and email, fire wire and usb2 interface and special crease reduction software. They do not have a full color palette that you would require for photographs, but are excellent for drawings with limited color range like GIS mapping. They are also excellent for scanning drawings that have been reduced from a larger size because of their high optical resolution. For on-site work requiring monochrome or 8 bit color, this is an excellent choice.

The Graphtec CS 400 ultra-fast full-color scanner has all the features of the CS 300 but adds full 24-bit color and and a self centering paper guide, handy for scanning very long sheets.

Money saving hint:  If you do not need the full-color capabilities of the CS400, the CS300 has the same speed at a lower price.

Most Important Consideration:  Speed and resolution.  The CS300 and CS400 have improved upon the CS 1000 in both of these respects with 9 ips @ 400 dpi.
