High Speed - high throughput

These are high speed - high through put scanners. With Ultra Wide SCSI output up to 40 mb/sec. They can all scan a 48" long color drawing at 200 dpi n 24 - 27 seconds, depending upon the model selected. But speed is more than just the specs. Other scanners have a glass that the drawings pass over and leave dust, tape goop and finally scratches. Color scanning is not as forgiving as black and white and a speck of dust can cause a streak, flair or rainbow. Cleaning the glass every few scans really slows you down, but not with the Colortrac's open aperture design and "glass-free" scanning. These scanners are also front loading to reduce operator fatigue.

These color scanners are unique too, by also being a fully featured monochrome scanner, including two-dimensional 2D-Adaptive Thresholding, providing clean crisp scans from poor quality drawing online without prescan.
